In my Undergraduate and Graduate studies, I have taken many classes across many fields of computer science (see more here) and I am the most interested in data and by extension machine learning. Data holds the keys to everything that we do and learning more about that data can help us in many ways while bringing information faster to the people that it would benefit the most. Machine learning is now playing a much bigger role with data because it can help us to predict the future using the trends that we see today.
I have enjoyed learning Python ever since I taught myself the language using YouTube videos and online tutorials around 5 years ago. After learning C and C++, Python seemed like the answer to all my prayers. Python could take a 50 line C project and change it into only 1 line with a single built-in function, not to mention the hundreds of libraries created by other developers to make python even sleeker. Even now as I dive deeper into Machine Learning, python is helping me to create models that predict with just a few lines of code. I am excited to see where the language goes next and am eager to learn more.
In preparation for my PhD application, I have spent quite a bit of time creating and designing this website. I have created other websites before (that you can see here), but after getting better and learning more about the different frameworks, such as Vue, React, Laravel, and many others. I realize that there is still more for me to learn.
After deciding to continue my studies into my Masters degree, I have gotten the opportunity to learn more about the field of computer science in many of my classes such as Big Data, Information Security, Data Mining, and several others. In taking these courses, I have realized that there is much more to learn in this field. I would love the opportunity to not only continue to learn, but also expand our collective knowledge in the field of computer science.
My current career goal is to become a professor, and with almost a decade of experience in teaching other people programming, math, science, and more recently English, I would like the opportunity to learn new things so that I could pass on my knowledge in my research as well.
I am currently spending a lot of time improving my Machine Learning skills by looking more into Keras , Pytorch , and TensorFlow . For my M.Sc thesis I am spending a lot of time learning about Emotion Detection and how to improve existing models while working on my own model.
